Thailand’s hospitality firm Royal Garden Resorts is seeking a venture into Maldives. Royal Garden Resorts is a leading player in Thailand's hospitality industry. Chairman Bill Heinecke said that the chain is looking towards expanding both its food and hotel businesses overseas by means of acquisitions and management contracts.   Heinecke said that his group was looking forward to either take over properties or manage existing hotels under its own brands in Maldives, Bali and Vietnam.   Under its own hotel brand, Anantara, the group has been approached by several hotels overseas to manage their properties, Heinecke said.   Next year, the group is likely to have more properties overseas as well as more food outlets under a franchise basis in China, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.   At the same time, the group is looking to open Mandara Spa outlets overseas after it acquired the 49 percent stake worth US$2.4 million owned by Nasdaq-listed Steiner Leisure Ltd and became the sole owner of the spa business.
