The Carpe Vita meaning “Seize Life” is the upgraded sistership of the Carpe Diem and was built in the Maldives by the same person, Amir Mansoor, as the Carpe Diem. The Carpe Vita started operations in 2011. The Carpe Vita is bigger than the Carpe Diem, but still catering for a maximum of 20 people with 10 cabins divided over 3 decks thus providing more space. The Carpe Vita like the Carpe Diem caters for dedicated scuba diving, wave surfing and fishing trips for both individuals as well as groups.

The Carpe Vita provides standard 4 dives a day on her dedicated scuba diving trips versus 3 on the Carpe Diem and offers some different itineraries from the Carpe Diem.

  • Summer Manta Ray identification trips - During our summer (July/August/September) trips on both Carpe Diem and the Carpe Vita we would like to assist Dr Anne-Marie Kitchen Wheeler in her information gathering and research of the manta population in the Maldives. Dr Anne-Marie is a research Marine Biologist who has been studying the behavior and ecology of the manta rays in the Maldives for almost 13 years now.

People will be able to participate in a Manta diver specialty course which was developed by Dr Kitchen-Wheeler and recognized by PADI. Our instructors are certified to conduct these specialties. For those not joining the courses we will do a workshop as to how to identify and how to assist the research which is being supported by IUCN in the Maldives.
